Understanding Your Policy

Hull and Machinery – ocean marine insurance which protects the insured vessel against physical damage caused by a peril of the sea or other covered perils while the vessel is in transit over water.

Windstorm Deductible – insurance which protects the insured vessel against physical damage caused by a windstorm like tropical storm or hurricane.

Towing and Assistance – coverage to transport the insured vessel to a repair facility when it’s inoperable and you’re stranded.

Tender – coverage for an insured tender kept on the insured vessel.

Personal Watercraft – coverage for an insured personal watercraft stored on the insureds vessel.

Liability – coverage for any property damage or bodily injury caused to a third party by the insureds vessel.

Medical Payments – coverage for reasonable medical expenses only necessary due to accidental bodily injury of third parties, incurred whilst embarking, disembarking or on-board the insured vessel.

Uninsured Boater – coverage for any sums which you are legally entitled to recover from a third party vessel owner or operator, but which cannot be recovered after your diligent effort to recover from any third party vessel owner or operator, either because they have no marine liability insurance and no realizable assets, or they cannot be identified, such as a hit-and-run operator.

Trailer – coverage for a listed trailer use to transport the insured vessel.

Personal effects – coverage for direct loss or damage to personal property from any accidental cause, whilst the property is onboard, being loaded onto, or unloading from the insured vessel.
